Sweeney's College Books Rental Contract - Spring 2012

For the purposes of this document the term "Bookstore" refers to management at Sweeneys College Books. "I" refers to the individual signing this contract.

1. I acknowledge that I am at least 18 years of age as of the date of this contract.

2. I am renting and have received the rental book(s) shown on this receipt. I have paid the non-refundable rental fee and I understand the return polices of the store also apply to rental items. The contract, register receipt and credit card or debit card are required for all returns for a full refund. No refunds for rentals are allowed after five business days from the date of the original rental.

3. I have examined the book(s) to be rented prior to signing the rental contract and acknowledge, though used, the book(s) is/are in good condition and free of liquid damage, missing pages, damaged binding or any other factor that may deem the book(s) to be considered not in good condition as deemed by the Bookstore.

4. I understand and acknowledge I am responsible for the replacement fee equal to the new price of the book ("cost") and additional 10% processing fee ("fee") that appear on the rental receipt as well as any applicable sales tax should I not return the rented book(s) by the rental return date or if the book(s) is/are not in good saleable condition as determined by the Bookstore.

5. I will return the book to Sweeneys College Books in good salable condition, in person, no later than the rental return date of Saturday, May 12, 2012 before 3:00pm. Any late returns will be rejected and I am responsible for the replacement fee ("cost") and additional processing fee ("fee") as well as any applicable sales tax. Rented books must be returned only by the individual listed on the contract unless otherwise noted by the Bookstore. Books shipped to the store will be rejected.

6. I will return the book in good salable condition as determined by the Bookstore. All CDs and other component parts included with this book must be present and in salable condition as determined by the Bookstore.

7. I am responsible for risk of loss from any cause, including theft, lost item(s), or return in unsalable condition, including but not limited to damage caused by liquids (rain, snow, coffee, juice, water, etc.), fire (scorched), chemical spills, tooth marks (pets, rodents, etc.), missing component parts, and spine or binding damage.

8. If I am late or if I fail to return the rental book(s) I will pay Sweeneys College Books the replacement fee and additional processing fee as shown on the contract as well as any applicable sales tax. I authorize Sweeneys College Books to withdraw or charge the same debit card or credit card account that was left as collateral to make this payment.

9. If I decide to keep and purchase the rental book(s) I will contact the Bookstore prior to the rental return date to make appropriate arrangements.

10. I will not exceed the limit or cancel the credit card or debit card that was left as collateral until all the rented materials are either returned to Sweeneys College Books or the fees indicated above are paid in full. I will promptly notify Sweeneys College Books of any changes to my credit card or debit card or any other personal information.

11. Sweeneys College Books is not responsible for communicating any details of the contract, return dates, fees or any information after the contract has been signed.  When returning the rental book(s) listed on this rental contract to Sweeney's College Books I will clearly differentiate rental returns from books being sold to Sweeney's College Books.

12. I acknowledge this as a legal, binding contract effective the date I rent my books until all books are returned or fees and applicable taxes are remitted and understand I am responsible to abide by all and any terms and conditions listed herein.

13. No exceptions will be made to the terms of this contract.
